New Oscar Host

Billy Crystal is a no-brainer to replace Eddie Murphy as host of the 2012 Oscars, but who else could've been chosen?

  •
Billy Crystal had to be the go-to guy. He's hosted the show eight times -- only Bob Hope can top that.
  •
Whoopi Goldberg. She's hosted the Oscars before, but should she be asked to do it again?
  •
Neil Patrick Harris. He's won kudos as the host of the Emmys and the Tony Awards.
  •
Ellen DeGeneres. She's funny, but does she play better in daylight than an elegant evening.
  •
Jimmy Fallon. He earned respect as the host of this year's Emmy telecast.
  •
Justin Timberlake. He seems like a natural from his many appearances at guest host on 'Saturday Night Live.'
  •
Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. There's a Facebook campaign to get these puppets to host the show.
  •
Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. They co-hosted the 2010 Oscar show.
  •
Russell Crowe. He's good friends with new Oscar telecast producer Brian Grazer, but he's also been known to have a bad temper.
  •
Hugh Jackman. The song-and-dance man is a veteran Oscar host.
  •
    Jon Stewart.
  •
Ricky Gervais. He offended virtually everyon in Hollywood with his jokes at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards. Does he deserve a second chance?
  •
Tina Fey. She's funny and she's got a lot of experience at Awards shows.
  •
David Letterman. He hasn't been asked back since the awkward "Oprah" and "Uma" moment.
  •
Oprah Winfrey. Everybody likes Oprah. And She's got time now that she's not doing her daily daytime show.
  •
Kristin Wiig and Melissa McCarthy. The Bridesmaids duo are hailed as the female "Hope and Crosby."
  •
Jim Carrey. He's funny. Really funny.
  •
Tom Hanks. One of Brian Grazer's BFFs. He's got a lot of experience picking up Academy Awards.
  •
Regis Philbin. His co-host Kelly Ripa has already tossed his hat into the ring.
  •
Brad Paisley. He's a regular host of the CMA Awards and has hinted that he wouldn't mind getting the nod for the Oscar gig.
  •
Charlie Sheen. You can't say you wouldn't want to tune in to see what happens...
