WATCH: Tony Dungy has no interest in USC coaching gig

DanPatrick.com - NBC analyst Tony Dungy joined the show to talk about the big storylines from Week 5 in the NFL and more.

Dungy said people with the USC program called his people and asked if he had any interest. “I don’t have any interest,” Dungy said.

“I coached for 28 years and had the best job in football,” Dungy said. “There was a time when it was just over with. … I don’t know anything about college football. College football is so different.”

Dungy said there are a lot of great college coaches out there for the job. But interestingly, Dungy said if he’s Kevin Sumlin, he’s not sure he goes out to L.A.

Dungy said that the Vikings brought in Josh Freeman to play because this trade signifies they don’t have faith in Christian Ponder. Fans can never believe they have faith in Ponder again.

Dungy said that people are most likely telling Jadeveon Clowney not to play if he’s not 100 percent. Dungy said he thinks Clowney likes to play and he’s going to be fine in the NFL.

Dungy also weighed in on ESPN analyst David Pollack saying people who didn’t play the game, including women, shouldn’t be on the committee to pick college football’s final four. Dungy said Pollack was wrong, Rice is certainly qualified. “Condeleeza knows her football,” Dungy said. He even said she might actually know more football than Pollack.

Dungy had interesting comments on Tony Romo. He said you don’t get the feel Romo is going to win late in games. “He hasn’t made the throws that win the game for you,” Dungy said.

Dungy said that he thinks that the Colts could actually slow down the Broncos. “They could win a 28-24 game,” Dungy said, noting their pass rush and the noise in that building.
