Christmas is traditionally a time for families to bond, sharing precious memories and remembering why they are all so close to each other (at least until they grow tired of it and go back to their own homes). As the NBA has created its own Christmas tradition, it can sometimes seem difficult to blend basketball and these classic values seamlessly. How will young children learn the true meaning of the holiday?
If the act of one young man from Wednesday's Chicago Bulls-Brooklyn Nets game is any indication, we do not have to worry too much. At the 8:08 mark of the second quarter, Nets veteran Kevin Garnett was whistled for a foul after jostling for defensive position in the post with Taj Gibson. In typical KG fashion, he made his feelings known with a long stream of commentary. Apparently he said something a little naughty, because a fan sitting courtside had to put earmuffs over his younger brother.
